The Hairdressers' Museum

The Hairdressers' Museum, which collects the objects and documents of the history of hairdressing, can be visited since 2001. Although, the gathering began earlier.
The first pieces of the collection were bought by hairdresser Károly Pinke, in around 1950, who wanted to establish a museum for them. Unfortunately he died before he could make it. Gyula Korom continued his collecting activity in 1996, with the help of antiquarians, and flea-market sellers and enlarged the collection continuously. Nowadays the museum has more than 3000 objects.
This museum is a unique collection in Hungary and also in Europe, because there are only seven museums in the whole Europe in this subject. These however are specialized in collecting not the relics of the universal history of hairdressing, but only a smaller part of it. The Hungarian Hairdressers' Museum besides being universal, differs from the other European museums of hairdressing in its educational programme especially for hairdresser students.
Everybody is welcome!
